the simplicity

Posted by helen on November 21, 2011

Here is one of the few dolls I purchased this months, she is 40th Anniversary Barbie.   the reason I bought her  is simple: her price was low–a great deal I could  not pass.   besides,  I like her dress.

Mattel has  really talented pattern makers. they make very SIMPLE patterns but can still achieve the high-end brand name look . Simple patterns make these Sewers life easy, It’s a great way to save labor cost.

the pattern of this dress is really simple, but the dress fits Barbie perfectly and she looks very elegant:

Perhaps I will make one in Green & Red –for Christmas…

I think a red and green one would be gorgeous! As always, I am so impressed with your sewing skills. I remember trying to make dresses for my Barbies and it was so difficult compared to sewing for people! What is your secret? 🙂

Thank you Analee, I dont really have great skills–I simply put more time into it. Sewing for myself is easier. doll dress are tiny, its very hard & time consuming to put pieces together, no room for mistakes. I only make simple dresses. I have tons of unfinished sewing projects–I started with great interests, then lost patience. 😦

I have her too still in her box and think she is so lovely!
I also really love the little barbie doll & box that came with her!
