Mad Men: Roger Sterling Doll

Posted by helen on February 11, 2011

strictly speaking, he is not a doll, but an “Action Figure”, since his stiff body is in lack of “Pose-bility”, he is more like a Statue to me. I also find him very “cartoonish”. his outfits are not well made, he wears striped suit, the stripes on the 2 front panels are supposed to be Symmetrical, but the seamstress did not pay attention to such details.

if you have him on hand, you will find the look and the feel of the painted white hair really strange. it doesnt look so bad in pictures.

You know because I am a big fan of the show, I do think of him as somewhat human. I mean I identify him with a human figure but if you just pick him up I agree with your review. I’m going to order him on Monday. With the BFC discounts I’ll get him for 44.95 plus the $1 shipping. That’s good enough. LOL!

Agree with you!!! Appears like the seamtress was really pressure to finished the suit, it’s so cheap!!! And at the beginning Mattel said the MM Male dolls were going to come with real root hair but they changed their mind (production cost) and chose to “hand paint” the hair, but looks so weird as you said!!!

$44.95 isnt bad, that’s almost 50% off the price I paid for!

I have to be honest, this doll really could not meet the “Mad Men” standard. men’s miniature suits are not easy to make, it takes very good skills and patience, but they could have chosen better fabrics, if the seamstresses didnt like extra works to make the striped patterns on the collars & front panels match, they could have chosen SOLID colored fabric instead, look at these collars, so badlly made! its unbearable to see such outfits on an executive. he needs to go on “what not to wear” TV show!!
