Festival of the world Barbie: Kwanzaa

Posted by helen on July 31, 2010

When I first saw this Doll, I didnt like her, she was $9.99 in my KBtoys stores, but I didnt get her. all the sudden, I felt the need to have her, so I went on eBay to find one, of course, her price has gone up so much!

Honestly, I didnt know anything about Kwanzaa until this doll was released. Barbie doll is very educational. I learnt tons of things from her. One day, Bill O’reilly was asking what Diwali was on his TV program, I almost called him “ask Barbie!” haha!–Bill O’reilly is such a Barbie hater, he bashed Sugar ken, CL Barbie, Barbie Basics…. the old fellow has no idea what Barbie is all about..

I have no idea such a celebration exists until I found this doll. I didn’t get her the first time she was released, so I got her a few years later for a hefty $85..no regrets though cause the doll is absolutely beautiful! Its really funny how I thought that her long skirt was a pair of pants at first! Anyway, is this the goddess head mold they are using? I got a feeling that the diwali and the sumatra indonesia also have the same facial structure….
Anyhow you should get this doll and all the others in the festivals of the world collection..it is such a great way to learn about other cultures and customs, plus it would also make your collection much more diverse and colorful.
