how do you like “presale”?

Another las Vegas showgirl, I pay no compliments on the doll’s costumes, but this doll has a new face sculpt, you may want her just for her head if $100 for a head isnt too expensive.
I dont understand why Stephen Burrow had to go this “Las Vegas” route, something simple from his runway may be more loved:
she wont make her way to my collections, so she & her teammate Blonde Diamond can break free to find a job at Gentlemen’s club or have their own drag queen cabaret shows –I said so as one of the blonds designers is a great “Drag Queen”, he modeled that strapless dress himself and got plenty compliments.

Mattel needs to thank you as such a good costumer. lol

hope this new head mold will be used in other lines, I’d buy one without showgirl costumes.

her price actually is $85 right now. you’ll get $15 discount.

Showgirl is not sold out? Poor girl. Helen, you are right. The simple one on the runway is so much better.

This costume was designed by Stephen Burrows, his inspiration was Miss Pat Cleveland and Miss Josephine Baker, who he met in Paris in 1973 at the Versailles event that changed the way the world viewed of how Americans showed fashion , It was a major break thru for models of colour.
This is by no means a Vegas inspired costume. I know I worked with Mr Burrows on his collection for Mattel.
So think , Pat Cleveland and Miss Baker.
love to you all.

Thank you John, for the insights. but the result looks very Las Vegas in many collectors eyes and it stopped them from buying her. Mattel did say this doll was “Inspired by the dazzling world of a retro showgirl…” but retro or not retro, she fits Las Vegas pefectly.
Mattel is having promotion, now she is $85, I hope it works out for people who like her but think she is expensive. $85 is not a bad price in these days.
since its just a start, we want to see this line continue and something different will be presented–something Barbie has not done before. of course, it would be a challenge, as Barbie almost has done everything–she has played showgirls for many times.
