esty?

an online friend has suggested me sell my handmade stuff on http://www.etsy.com. Is esty worth trying?

I have lots handmade items at home, well, I didnt make them, I bought them but no longer have space for them since I have so many dolls.

etsy’s traffic rank is 105, not bad for a new company found in 2005. eBay’s traffic rank is 9, but eBay has been around for 15 years.

I know I signed up with eTsy before , but I dont remeber my ID & which email address I have used.

Black Friday

its time to boost US economy, I went to join the crowds in the stores on this black friday.
I first stopped at AJwright, picked up one top model & one cheerleader barbie there, then, I headed to TRU, many new dolls there, including Barbie Basics. I am not super excited about these Black Basics. I probably only need 2 from the group. My TRU is selling them for $25.99/each. accessory pack is also $25.99! It made me miss the old “Fashion Fever” days so much, the Tube Barbies were $9.99/Each, they came with everything: handbags, shoes, outfits & doll Stands. I guess US dollar has devalued too much.

I then went to Liquidation Center, picked “2008 Happy Holiday” Barbie, I wanted an AA, but the store doesnt carry it. I also bought 2 ken dolls.

I also stopped at Conway. bought a few non-doll related items…

my last stop was Target, nothing much there, but twlight Edward & bella dolls were on the shelfs, I dont like Edward doll, especially these glitters on her face. besides, I dont like witches, vampires… these kind of dolls have too much negative energy, I dont want them.

My Christmas shopping is done!

I am too tired, I need some sleep.

A Barbie made just for Christmas

I was watching TV, surfing net, drinking coffe, cooking potatos, doing laundries and painting this doll at the same time… but hey, I finished her in time! okay, I confess, it took longer than it should.

She wears a dress that’s a replica of Voyage in Vintage. I am sure I made better pattern than the original one, especailly the neckline. I cut it a little bit lower and it fits the doll perfectly, the original one wrinkles.

the doll was Enchanted EVening. now you may call her “Christmas Candy”–lol she’s got plenty Candy

Farewell to Cher

I made 3 Cher dolls a couple of years ago: blond hair, red hair & purple hair. Blond & red head were long gone, I have kept this purple one. Finally, I am ready to let her go. I am a bit of sentimental, but its okay, I am sure she will be with a happy owner who appreciates her beauty.

life goes on, my next Cher would be a better one. who knows what I will be able to come up with.

a debut that’s worth $4,999

an eBay seller is selling a signed Paris Convention Debut (with Raven Hair) for $4,999, I was like, Gee, you probably need to add “dinner with Robert Best included in this auction” to get people to buy her.

this doll has a dirty repaint. although the picture doesnt show, her original facial paint was not completely removed, and the new paint added more mess. the blushes on her cheeks are so terrible, like the marks left by bathroom water damages

I wiped off all of her dirty paint, now she has a blank face.

now the transformation begins:

She wears violet-toned eye makeup, soft pink lipsticks, her eyebrows give her a little attitude she needed to protect herself.

well, actually, she needs a new dress, but that would not be my responsibilites. i am sure her owner will dress her up properly.

I am not in very good mood for more dolls. I probably will order one Bond girl Halle Berry. the rest will be put on hold. I am sure these 12 Barbie Basics will be all over the places like these Birthstone Beauties. its better I pick them up at MarShall’s or AJwright.
