I am now one step closer to 2009 Barbie Collector Convention. I have made hotel reservation. I guess the hotel expenses probably would be the major cost of the entire budget.
Table gifts and Bus fare wont cost that much, I have no plan to go on any shopping sprees b/c I dont want to carry big luggages home. but who knows, I may end up buying tons of things. I am a weak person when it comes to sales.
oh, food, since the hotel is in downtown, then, dinning would be easy. $40 a day would be more than enough, I think.
what else? I dont know.

I have got tooo many Birthstone Beauties. it seems to me, their similarities made them lose their “Individualism”, all wear the same styled dress, same hair style, same dolg….
I accidently ruined Miss Jan.’s face paint, I had to repaint her, I never liked Barbie’s rooted eyelashes, as they always looked so fake. It is hard to understand why all Barbie’s rooted lashes come in BLACK?! even the dolls that have light hair colors.
I am going to give my repainted Steffie rooted lashes in the same color as her hair.
here is a crappy picture of the doll I repainted,

I will root her lashes in brown, same color as her hair. she will turn out to be a beauty. just wait and see!

The 2009 Barbie Convention is almost sold out. I am glad that I applied early, now I dont have to stay on the Waiting List and hope for a vacant seat, as I am in!
My Preparation for 2009 Barbie Convention has started. The first Stage is shopping for craft items to make Table Gifts. I wish I wont overspend. I have bought lots lots colorful fabric. I will stop here, no MORE fabrics!!!
there are so many cute things I could buy, but I want to give people quality gifts that they will carry home and chrish them for long long time, not the gift they’d trash them behind my back. –oh, that happens, many Conventionists are overloaded after the convention, they can not carry everything home, I was told that they threw away lots great items, including gifts from their table mates. I dont want my gifts end up in trash can. My goal is to give them items that’s light, easy-to-carry but highly resellable. they can cash in my gifts in the 2ndary market if they need money. Quite a challenge for me, but not impossible, most of my handmade doll items have sold at eBay. from doll Kimono to hand-painted dolls, they do have market–that is if they are designed for sale.

I bet I am way behind FF lines, I saw a set of 5 new Fashion Fever dolls at Target, sorry, I didnt like any of these faces. With limited budget, these dolls are on “the Emlimated” list. but I found this dress is nice, so I bought this doll:

I will keep the dress, maybe keep the body too, the head will go to either eBay or a little girl’s home.
who wears it best?!
